Red Flags

  1. Being treated poorly in front of friends
  2. Extreme jealousy from partner when you hang out with your friends
  3. They freak out when you talk to the opposite sex/same sex even though they’re just friends
  4. You feel like you're walking on eggshells
  5. You are investing a lot in terms of time, emotions, and money, and getting little in return.
  6. Your partner holds you back
  7. Your partner takes advantage of you and how you feel
  8. Your partner is being controlling
  9. You lack independence
  10. Being forced to spend every waking moment with them or else (Also goes with your partner being controlling)
  11. Your sense of self-worth has dramatically declined since beginning the relationship

How To Tell If Someone You Know Is In A Toxic Relationship?

  1. You feel on edge around their partner
  2. They tell you their partner is frequently mad at them
  3. Their partner is always giving them expensive gifts (Seems like a bribe)
  4. They mention feeling crazy
  5. They can't always recall what happened
  6. They've been M.I.A.
  7. They lost their confidence
  8. They make excuses for their partner
  9. They check up on/Worry about their partner a lot

Getting Out Of A Toxic Relationship

  1. Try to talk to your partner about what is bothering you
  2. Tell trusted family members and friends about the situation, including that you plan to leave
  3. Work on your self-esteem
    1. Try to love yourself
    2. Surround yourself around positivity and positive people that you love
  4. Stick with your decision on leaving them

Moving On

  1. Cut off communication with the toxic person
  2. Take the time you need to heal
  3. Distract yourself
    1. Pick up some hobbies that you either used to enjoy or have always wanted to try
    2. Hang out with people you love
    3. Try new things
    4. Blow off steam like working out or do something that makes you feel good about yourself
  4. Work on yourself before getting into another relationship
